Spring in the New Forest
The weather was ideal last night for an evening out with the camera in the New Forest. Most of the trees have just come into leaf and there was a lovely sunset. Even better, a herd of young, wild stallions wandered into my path and I was able to immortalise what is for many people the epitome of this wilderness, just a few miles from the busy port city of Southampton.
I deliberately shot it with a fast shutter speed to avoid motion blur from the ponies and slightly under-exposed to preserve detail in the sky. Afterwards, in Lightroom, I processed it to emphasise the ‘golden hour’ lighting. It is currently trending Popular on 500px.com; I hope you like it.
